Shaahid has always had an obsession for clothes and food. Ever since his growing up years - from making dresses out of socks for his sister’s dolls, to setting up a confectionary business with a friend, he has tried his hand at it all and been extremely successful.

After setting up his first independent exhibition at Breach Candy in Mumbai, there was no looking back. He took on a job as an in-house designer for a boutique in Bandra, where his clientele featured the likes of Bollywood stars like Bindiya Goswami, Rekha, Zeenat Aman, etc. This was his induction into Bollywood.
Shaahid’s break into Bollywood happened when his friend Rahul Roy asked him to design for him for his debut film, Aashiqui. This was his stepping stone as an independent designer. Post Aashiqui, he set up his own unit and from then on things started moving in full swing. Here is the man who created the famous tapori look for Aamir Khan in Rangeela.
But, the 1993 riots in Mumbai affected him where his workshop was burnt down and looted. Soon after he went to London & studied design and cuts, and returned to India and the rest is history.
His clothes always have a distinctly eclectic feel to them with his blueprint of flowing silhouettes, classic cuts, self on self uber cool & understated chic.. This aesthetic has drawn individuals & Bollywood alike to his designs.
Shaahid has found his following through a distinguished list of clients…the late Feroz Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Sushmita Sen, Fardeen Khan, Mayur Madhwani, Bill Carson, ManishaKoirala, The Royal family of Dubai to name a few. He also designed the complete trousseau for Dr. Shashi Tharoor (Member of Parliament) and his wife late Sunanda for their wedding.
